U.S. Tariffs - Frequently Asked Questions
Last updated: 20/10/2025
Starting from October 20th, 2025, we are reopening U.S. orders. However, customers will be charged additional non-refundable tariff fees for all items. This allows your order to arrive as seamlessly as possible, without being held at customs or you being charged at the point of delivery.
What is a tariff?
A tariff is a tax a country's government places on certain goods imported from other countries.
Why are tariffs raising the prices for products on Sunglasses2U?
The current U.S. government has introduced these tariffs on all products shipped into the United States. It is a compulsory fee and must be paid. The additional cost must be added to your order to cover costs and ensure we can continue shipping to the USA.
Charging these additional fees at the checkout stage also allows you, the customer, to receive your order as quickly as possible without being held at customs or being charged potential unexpected tariff fees on delivery.
Are tariff charges refundable?
No, tariff charges are non-refundable in all situations. This includes:
- Unsuitable or unwanted returns
- Faulty items
- Lost deliveries
- Rejected/refused delivery
- Warranty or repair requests
In the event of any of the above, you will only be refunded the base price of the product, minus any tariff charges and delivery costs where appropriate, according to our Returns and Refund policy.
Any orders to the U.S are at the customer's risk, and Sunglasses2U will not refund the non-refundable tariff charge under any circumstances.
Why are these charges non-refundable?
These fees are required by U.S. customs and are not controlled by us. We must collect them to cover the additional import costs. Without these charges, it would not be financially possible for us to continue shipping to the United States.
Does Sunglasses2U profit from these additional tariff fees?
No, Sunglasses2U does not profit from any portion of these tariff fees. This is a non-refundable charge paid to the U.S government.
How do I know how much I am being charged for tariffs?
The total price, including tariffs, will be broken down on the basket and checkout pages, and on your invoice. The tariff price percentage increase is also stated on individual product pages.
What percentage will I get charged extra for U.S. tariffs?
The exact price increase on individual products depends on where they were manufactured. Tariffs can be higher or lower depending on the country of origin. The sitting U.S. President can increase, decrease, or suspend tariffs for individual countries at any time. Any changes will be reflected on our product pages.
What delivery options are available to U.S. orders?
We only offer paid Royal Mail shipping to the U.S. We have partnered with Royal Mail to make the customs process as smooth as possible with minimal disruption for U.S deliveries. Once your order has passed U.S customs, it will be delivered by local postal services. The estimated delivery time for U.S orders using Royal Mail is 5-10 days.
Will I get charged tariffs on delivery costs?
No, we do not place tariff fees on shipping/delivery costs. You will only get charged tariff fees for physical products.
